Do you have the ability to identify something by it's make and model?

I can usually identify the makes of cars from a distance, but unless they're fairly common I'm less good on models.

Not unless I can see the logo/emblem/label. So: no.

I can ID most guitars and basses by just seeing them.

I assume you mean to see something and know the make/model vs. seeing the make/model and then knowing what the item is, right?

I used to be able to do commercial jetliners, but some of the recent ones look too much alike. US military planes, no problem.
