I was attacked by a neighbors dog when I was in 3rd grade. She was an adult German Shephard and she jumped up on her hind legs with her front paws on my shoulders (we were the same height that way) and she was snapping at my face. I put my arms up to block my face and she bit a chunk out of my left arm (you could see jagged muscle sticking out of the wound).
Off to the hospital I went and came home with stitches and a whole bunch of antibiotics. As an adult, it looks like a puny scar now.
Kind of. To me it was an attack, but it wasn't to the dog.
I was six or seven and wanted to pet my gramma's neighbors' rottie. When I got close to him, though, he knocked me over and stood on me, licking my face. He was just excited and didn't realize his own size, but it scared the hell out of me and my grandparents who heard me screaming. I'm still nervious around rotties, even though I know they can be the sweetest dogs in the world. :(
I work at a vet clinic so yes and mostly cats. Sometimes the animals get upset when you want to take their temperature and poke them with sharp things. Go figure.
