i think i know what you mean, but i'm not 100% sure.
if i'm right, that's not the point, but from what i've seen, enough people are deactivating their facebooks for it.

I find the features I've tried to be clear and easy to use, and I have a high degree of confidence in Google's security and privacy. I also enjoy that it doesn't seem to have the apps that are overrunning Facebook.

As soon as they have something that mimics "events" on Facebook (possibly incorporating Google Calendar, which I use all the time), I think it's a huge contender.

If they incorporated the multi-user planning feature from Google Wave, then it could make a serious move to overtake.

I think so. Give them a little longer to iron out the bugs, incorporate google calendar, and open up to everyone.
