Go ahead, hate on me because I'm too lazy to look into it myself.

Is google + user friendly, with enough originality and new features to offer that it is worth while?

That depends on your personal preference.

I like it because it is like Facebook before Zynga took hold. I like that it is plain and simple, I like the whole Circles thing. I also like that it is Google and not Zuckerberg.

YES. So far no freaking game apps. Granted, I have all the games blocked from my feed - but goddamn they are still annoying.

I confess that I play Project Legacy and Zuma Blitz but I hate all the game shit that shows up on my feed. I never click the 'SHARE WITH FRIENDS' option because they don't care that my level 38 battle frog just got 500K points on the new board.

I like bare bones social networking like what Google+ is offering. I hope it stays that way, though it would be nice for some extra features and more integration. I think it would be rad if Google does what Rockmelt has with their browser and fully integrates + with it.

Google invested in Zynga.

It's coming.

The main difference is circles, which is the feature I'm most excited about. I like posting things that I know certain people I'm friends with would either be annoyingly argumentative or it's too personal, circles has made it WAY easier than facebook to truly edit who see's what.

Honestly? I expect facebook to try and copy circles if it's very popular.

Oh, and G+ has made it clear that all user generated content is OURS to own - which is totally different from facebooks attitude that if you upload a pic or write something, it's theirs.

I don't get all the hype with circles, facebook groups work exactly the same way (or can work).

Mainly the fact that there are preconceived Circles for Friends, Family, and Acquaintances makes it easy to sort people from the get-go. Groups on FB are rather a PITA to set up, in part because unless you created groups when you signed on, it's a larger job to sort friends into groups. (Sort of like trying to tag years' worth of LJ posts all at once.)

It's a lot more user friendly than Facebook insofar as it doesn't hide all the privacy settings away in an obscure menu. It makes it very easy to share/hide different posts from different sets of people.

It doesn't have a huge number of features yet, but it is clearly still in development. Is it worthwhile - I think so, mostly because I want an alternative to Facebook.

It has most of the features Facebook has, but better. I still use Facebook/Twitter, but I'm diggin' G+. Filtering content to specific people is so easy.

The privacy features are much better, you can back up your information, you can edit things after you post them, you can "mute" something you've posted to stop getting notifications on it if you choose, there's the circles, hangouts which are group video chats, and I believe it has text chat too? but I have yet to see my friends available in the little box thing so I haven't tested it.
