How often would you say you find yourself arguing* with people on the internet? Is it a daily affair, or could you count the amount of times on one hand?

Do you enjoy it?

*I mean downright arguing, back and forth, neither side wanting to give. Not necessarily huge drama-level arguing, but arguing nonetheless and not just friendly disagreements.

what about you?, leisure activities, arguments & fighting

Eeeeh, probably at least once a week.

Yeah, or I wouldn't keep doing it, lol.

The older I get the more likely I am to just walk away, though. Getting the last word isn't important to me anymore.

That's how it's been for me. I'm approaching my thirties and someone will try to pick a fight or whatever and I find myself either going 'I need to do laundry/clean/apply for jobs/draw/whatever' OR going 'Do I want to spend what little free time I do have doing THIS?' and it's honestly really, really easy to walk away at that point. It seemed a lot harder when I was younger and had less responsibilities and more free time.

I know that means in internet speak that they 'won' because they assume I couldn't argue my side, but it's just.. so unimportant nowadays. Sometimes I miss it though.

Before, it was really infrequent and lately, never. On...like the internet.

In WoW, I argue with people pretty consistently almost every time I encounter another player.

BUT I find that arguing with people I really really don't care about puts unnecessary strain on me so I've been trying to put a stop to it all.

In WoW, it's gotten to the extent where I don't talk to anyone else unless I have to. I don't group with strangers and if I do and there are jerks, I try to ignore them. Unless they're SUPERJERKS and then I give up and berate them until they go away.

lmao, one time I spammed /fart on some random jerk PUG until he left the group. That was my shining pinnacle of glory. Srsly, I'd never have played WoW if I wasn't able to play with people I know irl. Having to depend on random players to not be utter morons would make me want to pull my hair out.

Hahaha, I've never done that.
There was one time that it was like 3 pulls in and this druid was doing something REALLY stupid and wouldn't listen to anyone who tried to help him.
He might even have been pulling for the tank in a heroic which is a huge NO obviously. Something you definitely learn before 85.

I ended up losing patience and saying one [pretty harsh] thing and the guy just left group immediately. I was kind of shocked and sort of felt bad but I was also pretty pleased with myself haha.

Whoops, meant to answer my own question.

Probably every couple months or so, but I've found as I get older and have less free time, it's become a lot easier to just close the tab and walk away. I USED to enjoy it, but something changed and I don't anymore, even though I'm usually more than capable of backing myself up and arguing my side.

I rarely argue with people. The only times I really get into it is when they are just downright wrong, not 'difference of opinion', but straight wrong. That just aggravates me to no end.

It used to really bother me too, but since being married to someone who will argue his PROVABLY WRONG side of something to the DEATH, I've been finding it a lot easier to mentally call someone a moron and walk away.

I broke up with my last boyfriend partly because he was a fucking idiot and we had arguments like that all the time. I couldn't stand it. The worst one was when he argued that cigars contain no nicotine. Every source on the internet was 'biased'. I just couldn't deal with that everyday.

With my ex it was stupid things. He'd get really holier-than-thou and point out if you pronounced a word wrong or got some fact wrong [regardless of if you WERE wrong]. If he was proven wrong, it was pout-city [you made him feel stupid] or he would just maintain that he was actually correct.

Rarely, because I argue for a living, however, the negative reactions to the Casey Anthony verdict has gotten my hackles up.

I personally felt they handled it exactly as they should have in terms of doubt.

They sure did. It wasn't a popular verdict but they did their job.

I don't think people are thinking that the jury didn't do their job or anything, but instead are just angry because they truly believe that she did it and won't be punished.
