Do any of our fantastic domestic engineers have magic solutions for getting stains out of carpeting? It's beige, standard texture-cut pile.

It depends on what it is, but vinegar and baking soda does the trick just about every time.

(Nifty hint just because, use white wine to remove red wine stains.)

Where I live you can rent a steam cleaner from grocery and hardware stores. They work really well, but that of course depends on how badly stained your carpet is. If you'd like to avoid using chemicals and such, I'd go with the steam cleaner.

I've found Oxy Clean works very well, but the stains tend to come back after a while.

No matter what you use, they usually come back after awhile. It's almost impossible to clean the pad without a professional steam cleaner going at it.
