Unlike the tagger, I do not see why this would be a bad idea.

I'm on both sides of the fence here. I can definitely see why you want to do it, but I can also see how it could go bad fast. Is your campus permitting it? If you really want to, I suggest going down to your campus Wednesday night and see if anything has been written already. If something has, then go ahead, but if nothing has been written, then keep your chalk to yourself.

And if you want another slogan... keep your rosary out of my hosiery.

Well, the pro-life club does this every year, so I know that they will begin chalking early Thursday morning.

And I like that slogan. I saw one similar to it - keep your rosaries off my ovaries. Gotta love rhyming. :)

If you're certain they're going to do it, then I say feel free to. Just exercise some tact (as the tag says), and be ready for an argument if you're caught doing it.

Is there a student relations office at your campus? This sort of thing can spiral out of control and turn very messy, as abortion is a heated topic, and I really don't like the idea of graffitiing all over the place, particularly a day dedicated to it. My uni had a graffiti day for... something, I can't remember what, but they erected a temporary wall (I think it was heavy duty cardboard or something), so people could scribble to their heart's content and then it could be taken down at the end of the day. Less chance for an argument, and less clean up.

I agree that it could get ugly, but I don't want to avoid chalking just so I don't hurt anyone's feelings. The temporary wall would be very helpful, but, unfortunately, we don't have one. :(

The pro-life club is VERY active on this campus, and all I ever hear from anyone who is pro choice is complaining, but no action. I just want for us to finally have a voice. The only issue is, if this chalking did become a problem, the school would blame us before they blamed the pro-life club because, as liberal as we are, we're still a Methodist institution.

I say go for it.

One year on my campus, a pro-life group went around chalking slogans surrounded by little hearts. The next day a pro-choice group chalked over the hearts with coat hangers.

Ouch. Brutal, but an honest message.

It's horribly petty but I'd love it if you did it anyway.
