Poll VirginityI wanted to do this poll because I hear that kids are having sex as if it is no big deal, the age keeps getting younger and younger. I don't want my future kids, to have kids the second they start puberty.
What are your thoughts?

I was 8 days shy of my 18th birthday. I think if people really want to protect their kids then they need to talk to them about sex when they're still pretty young. Yes, it's uncomfortable, but so is your 14 year old telling you they're pregnant.

Exactly! I don't really remember getting 'the talk' but I asked questions they answered. :)
Just people are getting abortions at such a young age. :(

This is one big reason why my two girls (12 and 8) have an age-appropriate knowledge of sex. Forewarned is forearmed... or something like that. :-)

Y'know, just putting out that while the poll results are interesting and all... AMA's general population isn't exactly highschool students. We span age groups from a few in high school to college-aged, to 30s, 40s, and up. If I had to wager a guess, I'd say that most of us are 18-40 and aren't exactly going to give you information about what today's whippersnappers are out doing to/with each other.

I don't believe in virginity, but the first time I had consentual, PIV intercourse I was 19 years old.
