On me dit que le temps qui glisse est un salaud

\o/ Proofs for the migration/invasion paper came back. I'm not really happy with the figures - we had them the size we wanted, and the publisher shrank them about 25%. I'd've used more of the white space if I'd known they'd do that. But still. Paper #2 for 2013. One more (a mini-review) is under editorial review, there's another for which I'm doing ( Read more... )

oh life, that's why they pay me the not-so-big $, fandom, what was i saying again?, movies, hockey

There's #hockeyporn on twitter? But a fic challenge to actually write all the implied porn would be fun.

Sometimes I wonder how commentators can say the things they say with straight faces. :)

You'd think the general 14 year old mentality of hockey players would make them more inclined to see innuendo in everything, not less. I don't understand it at all.

Oooh, a byline how exciting.

Crossing fingers you're able to get the 30+ .

I'm not a hockey fan, but yeah I love listening to it over the air as the comments are hilarious.

I'd go with you to see it but sadly, I live too far away and there are no transporters in this part of Florida :(

"He's got a big curve to his stick, and he's going to have to bring it hard." Roenick said this during pregame commentary. I couldn't make it up.

I just want the house to SELL so we are stuck with two mortgages.

Someone needs to get on that transporter thing. It would make life so much easier.

Did you see Star Trek? Opinion?

I failed at seeing The Reluctant Fundamentalist, mostly because I was lazy after going for a long walk earlier in the day (down the Fallsway over to Harbor East and then back up along the Harbor and up to Mt. Vernon). A nap happened instead.

Didn't see it - Aaron suggested going to a 10:30 show last night, but some of us still have to get to work on time...

I am old. Even on a non-work day, if you plunk me down in a darkened theater at 10:30pm, I'll be asleep by 11:00 pm.

Hey, did you see that Karl Urban is doing a TV show this fall? I can't remember the name or premise, but his name jumped right out at me. Nothing in the Post's fall preview (in May!) looked like anything I'd watch.

Depends on the movie. I'd probably stay awake for Star Trek. Early evening (6:30-9pm) is taken up with hockey playoffs lately, if I'm home. But maybe this weekend we'll go. A matinee on Saturday, maybe?

No, I had not, but I would probably watch an episode, just to see what Karl Urban was doing.
