It's been a while since I posted anything other than the notice about moving, so in the last couple of weeks:

1. This happened. It was a pretty great show. One of the best parts was that there was an 11-yr-old kid next to me at the barrier with his dad, and he was the big TGA fan, somehow had conned his dad into letting him see multiple shows on ( Read more... )

They're so good live! (Also, Ian was wearing a NYRangers tshirt and ARosamilia was wearing a NJDevils cap for this show, and I don't understand how they can agree to be onstage together with that sort of rivalry. Just. The Rangers? Not. Right.)

The Wild didn't play badly. They just don't roll 4 lines that can score (unlike the 'Hawks), so when the Parise/Koivu/Coyle line was shut down, there wasn't much offense, and Crawford stopped what there was. But Marco Scandella finally showed up, defensively, and added to the magic that is Suter/Brodin. I think they'll be even better next year. And then I'll have to decide if who I want to cheer for. DILEMMA.

I have not seen either of the first two Iron Man movies, just The Avengers. Would IM3 make sense to me?

I'm interested in seeing The Reluctant Fundamentalist, mostly to see how it adapts to film, but it's only playing in Bethesda. The Charles has mostly REALLY arty stuff right now for the Md. film festival this weekend, and the Landmark downtown is all about Gatsby (blech) and IM3.

I think it'd be fine to see IM3 without seeing the previous ones. The only thing that might be useful to know is that Tony Stark built War Machine, a suit for his BFF, Colonel James Rhodes, in IM2. Rhodey is played by Don Cheadle. And that the whole point of the arc reactor in Tony's chest originally was to be a magnet that prevented bits of shrapnel in his heart from killing him, and powering the suit with it came later. Also, Stark Industries originally made all their money on defense contracts? But you'd probably get that from Captain America, since Stark the Elder was in that movie. In any case, followable.

:| Can Gatsby just be done with? Seriously?

I watched Rafa win. And there's IIHF hockey on right now. (With a bunch of Devils players on the team, because they didn't make the NHL playoffs.) I should get off my ass and do something.

It's Sunday, a loafing day. Why should you?

I went for a walk around Bolton Hill. Then Mom & Tippy came over for lunch. And I think I'm going to go for another walk maybe? Because the weather is beautifula nd also because Vaccaro's gives you an entire pint of cannoli cream to fill six shells, which is ridiculous, so then you have to each a couple of spoons of the filling and now I'm so full that my stomach hurts.

I'm cable-less still, so I didn't watch Rafa but will later once TTV has posted it online.

And I refuse to acknowledge Gatsby. Refuse. Reading it once was bad enough.
