day whatever: still don't care about the BCS championship game

+ I posted the never-revealed fic I wrote for happyhockeydays over at AO3 (Shortest distance between two points, hockey rpf, Jeff Skinner/Eric Staal/Tanya Staal, mature), and the response has basically been yay, but GIVE ME THE 3SOME PORN. Which I guess is gratifying, because when I wrote it I was really not satisfied with the characterization. Partly because I ( Read more... )

It seems like the Aeros won't loose much from the lockout ending. Maybe during camp, but longterm they're loosing Granlund and Scandella, who they've been fine without in the past, as well as probably another dman, at least short term, and maybe another forward. That wouldn't be very bad at all.

that podcast was great. I am continually amused by how legit hockey journalists will talk about players the same way fandom does, especially the stuff about Sidney Crosby getting his soul back.

hope you're feeling better soon!

I think they shouldn't be gone for the long term, especially if Bouchard is really healthy. But probably at least for the week of training camp, maybe Zucker, Coyle and maaaybe Larsson for forwards, and Genoway, Kampfer, and Cuma on defense if Scandella can't play right away? Bagnall was questionable in the 3rd on Sunday, and Connelly was out, so the defense is weak again. It seems like the Aeros are suffering from a lot of injuries this season.

ETA: likelihood that Dumba's attendance will mean anything at all for the Wild, other than it being a week that he's not playing for Red Deer?

It does seem like a lot of injuries.

I don't think that Dumba's attendance will mean anything, didn't they basically say as much? But if he does really really awesomely, they do need defenders, but they would probably pick somebody from Houston. Still, I guess it's good for him to experience camp?

Idk it just seems like a waste when they have limited time and space for camp and the roster. Plus half the time I think bloggers are not the most reliable. For example, Russo says Scandella's injury is groin related, but the Houston-based blogger says it's his back. I don't know who is right, or if the medical staff is just blowing smoke to cover the original "upper body injury" he suffered in that hit in the Lake Erie game.
