1. Hello, internet! My laptop's fan is running over time. I'm somewhat concerned that this means the end is nigh. I've only checked LJ sporadically lately, over my phone, and I'm terrible about commenting since I hate to do extensive typing on the tiny touch-screen, but if I've missed something important, please let me know!

2. For thespatz, some BRMC. My ( Read more... )

Do you have pets? When mine starts doing that, it's usually time to have the dog fur cleaned out of the fan/heat sink.

I do have two cats; it would not surprise me if there was an entire fur coat in there. I'll check if there's an easy way to do that for a MacBook, thanks!

KA Mitchell!! No Souvenirs actually has two books that precede it in a series, which I can upload for you if you want? I also have a bunch of other m/m ebooks (in epub format) that I can share.

OK, now that LJ's letting me comment again... sure, if you don't mind. Thanks!

While I agree that things got glossed over that I would liked to have seen, I feel like that's a running theme in the movies so I don't even really notice it anymore. Honestly, I didn't really love the way the Slytherin stuff was handled in the books anyway, and I feel like fandom/fic has done a better job of it in a lot of cases, so maybe that's why it didn't really bother me. I felt like the movie did what it could with the time/resources that it had (it still showed Narcissa risking lying about harry for Draco, it gave us all the Malfoy depth that we needed and showed us Snape wasn't terrible).

Yeah, like I said above, JKR did a good job of painting herself into a writing corner in terms of Slytherin behavior, and that limited the movie. Even so, sending them ALL to the dungeons? Practical. And yet discriminatory. Well done, McG. I ALWAYS have this problem, though. It's a brain-not-able-to-disconnect issue.

I know what you mean about trying to type on those small touch screens, can be rather annoying if you've a bit to type.

Sorry about the lap top. And I still have not seen the last movie. I don't want to see Fred die - yeah I'm weird ;)

Good luck with the lap top.

I want to see the movie again. I just have some issues with it. I am unable to completely dissociate the books from the movies, which clearly is a problem given how much they cut out.

Thanks!

Oh, HP. I have such a love for those books, which means I have issues with a lot of the things in the movies. But that's okay. Books and their movies will always have differences, I suppose.

A lot of KA Mitchell's books are entertaining reads. :)

I have a hard time when books I enjoy become movies, because they leave so much out. I should KNOW they are going to do so, and dissociate the books from the product onscreen, but somehow my brain doesn't work that way.

Now that LJ is working again, I need to quick find the pic I wanted and sign up at we_pimpin before the signups close!

Don't worry about rushing that. I'm going to end up extending the sign ups/end date because of LJ's downtime. :)
