I console myself with the thought that if one must have a substance abuse problem, at least this one is legal and relatively inexpensive. ;)

What's really funny is that I used this as an excuse the other day when my mom said something about how much money I spend at Starbucks. :D

(It is a tragedy that Red Hook is not allowed to brew their Double Black Stout any more - it was a stout brewed with Starbucks coffee. It was the Best Beer Ever To Pass My Lips.)

The FDA and various state laws make it very difficult for breweries to brew, package, and sell products that contain both alcohol and caffeine, because it's a stimulant. You can always BUY alcohol and mix it with caffeine (like vodka and Red Bull, right?), but regulations have gotten stricter on having them brewed together.
