[he turns back and blinks when he discovers the door leads to an empty room.]

Yeah... I just came back. I don't even remember how I left, honestly, I just... wasn't here, suddenly.

[he rubs at the back of his head awkwardly. before, he would have flung himself at Kanda- but now he's a little older, a little less certain of things he thought he knew when he was a "child".]

[And thankfully he didn't feel the pain when Alma left thanks to Cross. If there was any at all, it would've been dull. But that didn't keep him from flipping shit and looking for Alma though.]

But- you said Cross blocked you from feeling anything when the bond was inactive. I'm sorry, Yuu, I just don't understand how our bond works and Master couldn't tell me either.

It's just a normal bond, Alma. I...used to get bad migraines when I thought about it, so Cross blocked the pain for me.

Lavi doesn't, though- and he and Tyki aren't really all that close, right? So if you and I aren't, does that mean your bond won't hurt you?

It only hurts that badly if the bond's broken. Ours isn't, and theirs isn't either.
