Gah, Asidian. ♥ This is beautiful. You've really captured L's character, in a way that can't really be shown in the series but that's still really the basis of who he is, if that makes sense. I really like that you set it during the night, too.... that definitely adds to the story.

But my favorite line is here: Quite one thing, after all, to attempt to maneuver one’s opponent into a vital mistake in conversation- and quite another to watch Light’s eyelashes flutter with the onset of some dream, to observe the way the boy’s lips parted as his breathing slowed and deepened.

I also really like that first line, because the end of it is so true. ^^ That's nothing like a home.

Also, this could just be my weird computer, but I couldn't follow the links from the communities... ^^;
