[Japan is always a fan of the video option. Anyway it clicks on to show him, and if the last minute catch of him sheathing his sword wasn't enough of a hint at his more business-related post, his black uniform might be. Although, his hands are not currently through the sleeves of the jacket, leaving a more casual look.

[Japan will be there rather quickly! I'll just say he was walking home during this conversation, so he takes the new sword and waits outside. He actually lives only a couple doors down from Dave BUT THAT ASIDE.

He'll be examining the katana. It's made out of "dreamstone"...

He probably won't think of Dave as the person he's waiting for until he's approached.]

SO MUCH ACTION!!!

[Dave takes his time despite saying that he'll be there-- a coolkid never allows himself to look or sound too eager, of course, so he strolls on downstairs and out of the apartment complex in a languid but purposeful manner. He spots Japan, and instead of waving or calling out to him, he just saunters over and stands a few feet away from him.

Soooooo cooooooool.

And after a moment of looking the supposedly older man (country?) over, he finally speaks up with a mid-tone:]

Sup.

ALL OF THE ACTION!!!

["Sup?" ...IS THIS... No but...

Okay he just shoves his confusion aside in order to greet him properly! A bow.]

Ah... greetings. [a bit of awkward silence here as Japan debates asking or not...]

ALL ACTION ALL THE TIME... okay no that sounds hideous

[You best be believing that this is Dave, the coolest coolkid of all time, Japan. He's standing there with his arms folded in perfect hipster coolkid nonchalance, his pokerface plastered onto his expression like he was born with it there.]

Japan, right.

[Hopefully this confirms all of Japan's suspicions... Yes, Dave is, in fact, a 13-year old. Maybe he's a little taller than the others, but only because he's a little lankier.]

ACTION a little less extreme than all the time...

[Indeed it does. And wow Dave is pretty cool. BUT THAT ASIDE... So young!]

C-correct! Strider-san? I did not expect- ah... I was imagining someone a bit older.

[He expected this kind of reaction, so he just shrugs and shifts his weight from one leg to the other.]

A/s/...what? [He shakes his head]

Ah, forgive me. ...Strider-san has practice with a katana? [He sort of eyes the extra one he brought]

[Dave sees Japan's gaze traveling to the katana, and so he looks at it as well. It reminds him of the ones that his Bro had hanging on his wall.]

Yeah, practically grew up with them hovering over my face, along with puppet asses. Striders' gotta know how to handle the handle.

In that case, I am a bit curious.

[He holds it out to him.] It is made out of a special material, but it should not be too different.

[He doesn't have to mention that his Bro only gave him shitty swords to work with-- Dave takes the katana and hefts it, testing how it feels in his hand first.]

Special material. Like what.

It is called "dreamstone," I believe. Quite a few months ago, there was a large alien called Lavos that was eating time. Ah, it is quite a long story, but essentially, myself and a few others were requested to fight it. The material comes from the shell of the Lavos spawn and was the only thing that could cause damage.

Aside from that, I am not sure if it does anything special. I prefer my own blade.

Kind of like an alchemized weapon, then.

[He doesn't make any motion to explain what that means, and instead just goes into fighting stance. He's never sparred with anyone other than his Bro, so he doesn't really know what to expect-- but he looks largely unconcerned about that.]

So we gonna do this shit or what.

[He hesitates, then unsheathes his own sword a bit thoughtfully. 2,000 SOME ODD YEARS OF PRACTICE but even if it's a kid, practice is good... And maybe he is good. He's met some pretty talented kids before!

WHY NOT.]

I suppose it is worth a try. [he moves his sword to a defensive position.] Whenever Strider-san is ready.

[Even with his roughly 9 years of practice, 2000 YEARS IS A BIG HURDLE TO LEAP. Not that Dave knows that.

Nodding, Dave goes into his own stance, which is nowhere near polished nor even proper-- it's the stance that he feels most comfortable with, as he kicks forward and goes for the first offensive strike.
