My first pay day was on Friday and, much to my surprise, I was paid a lot more than what I was expecting...like ten times more than what I was expecting. Woah mama - suddenly not very broke at all, so this weekend I've used the fresh injection of funds to do most of my Christmas shopping

I always worry when I get overpaid, that they'll all of a sudden ask for the extra back!
They've done it twice when they gave me a raise and didn't tell me.

Strange about not telling you about the raise. Unless it's their way of telling you - surprise!!!!

it's common practice for companies to make annual salary adjustments without letting the employee know - the only reason there would be notification is if the adjustment was performance related (ie: a bonus, promotion or change in position)
