I think it's important to acknowledge the toxicity of anti-blackness within East Asian (and other PoC) communities. I hear a lot of awful white-apologist sentiments on a day-to-day basis and it just boggles my mind to see everyone and their grandma direct their vitriole at the wrong people. But it's also complete bullshit to dismiss East Asians as having white privilege, as others have done.

I ranted about it here. It might rub people the wrong way, but just putting some thoughts out there. It seems like East Asians are always thought of as being in identity "limbo" of some sorts. Makes my head hurt.

I agree that there are a lot of intra-racial hatred and prejudice out there and it's awful, and steps should be taken to combat that. It stems from white supremacist culture, and people don't seem to realize that at all.

This is completely and utterly the wrong way to go about it, though, IMO. It's like if I made a post about how black/latin@/native/etc people have harassed me in the past so I avoid them altogether now.

Exactly. I could go on and on about the prejudice I've faced from non-East-Asian PoC but the fact remains that those prejudices are mostly from/reaffirmed by the institutionalised power white people have over all of us PoC.
