Shibutani Subaru - words

Apr 16, 2009 18:16

My solo song ("words") is piano and vocal only. There's no other sound. It's only piano, but it's pretty upbeat. I wrote the lyrics and I think I was able to express the Shibutani Subaru of the present. I actually got the song a while ago, but I really couldn't come up with any lyrics, not even 1 line until the day of the recording. After I worked ( Read more... )

I was hoping and praying for a translation...thanks very much!!

Ah...the best part of the song...and the perviest...you didn't mention. LOL!

For those who don't know...the very first line about the "soul" - he's playing with words because the way that he phrased it, the word could also mean "penis". So, the underlying meaning is, "the penis is enhanced." You can use your imagination. :D

You're welcome! XD

Actually, "kintama" (golden ball) means "testicles". But when I ask some Japanese people what "tamaC" means, they said me it was "tamashii" for "soul". Maybe I should change "the ball C" in "the balls"...

Hiya!

You're right! Kintama means "testicles". (my childhood dirty thoughts returned when we used to refer to kintama as both - balls or penis - depending on how naughty we wanted to be. :D) LOL!! But yes, "golden balls" is testicles - how male-dominated was/is Japan for them to come up with this word? XD XD

Tamashii is the word for "soul".

Remember that child's game in Japan where someone would say a word and then the next person would take the last part of that word and make another word, for instance: Kuru-ma, ma-ido, do-a, etc? I think that's what Suba-chan may have been playing, so: Gin-tama, Tama-shii. But to add to it, he added the "C" in TamaC just to make it more interesting, I think. ;D

thank you so much for the English translation. :D

This song was born after my feelings of "wanting to move people's hearts" ♥

so THIS is how the Shibutani Subaru of the present thinks. LOL.
i love the fact that he can always get away with what he wants. xD
oh Subaru. ♥
