This is a fabulous story, with extremely vivid characterization of the setting and the people; everything leaps off the page. I'm enjoying the undercurrents of tension you've woven through the story and riveted by the overall atmosphere and potential for the story. Looking forward to more!

Wow. That is all I can say. This story is a lot of things for me, being someone who doesn't know much about WW2, let alone from the side of the English. I loved how you placed these two characters (as well as Sullivan and two original characters) into this setting and still managed to have them come to life in my head. I could still see Ash and Scribbs as I know them from the show, yet... not. you write the affects of war in the lives of two seemingly normal women, how it emotionally gets to them, and how it has the possibility of destroying them, yet their friendship is what keeps them going through this together, with Ash calling for Scribbs' help, and Scribbs in turn helping her when she has a bit of a breakdown herself. What a great first chapter. I konw now who I will be stalking for the following months. Happy International Day of Femslash!!

Thank you! I hope to include more of the MiS humour and sniping in later chapters, now I've got the characters established. Funny is much more fun to write.

There is more, much more, it just needs a good poking with the edit stick before it's fit for purpose.

(Chapter 3 even has grease-monkey-Scribbs)

I'll do my best to get it underway as soon as possible. (Thesis be damned)

This is just, just, just AWESOME!
This story comes to life very easily and you make very believable characters.

This is incredibly, incredibly good!

"But they were British, they had tea and they were damn well not going to lie down and roll over just because some Kraut asked politely."

Well, if you have tea, you're all sorted, aren't you?

Tea! Panacea for all ills. I admit to putting that in merely as a proud brit, knowing it did nothing for the story. But sometimes you just gotta gloat about your magic potion. :D
