Just a quick note that we made it back from our round-the-world trip to Thailand and Cambodia. We had a fantastic time, saw incredible temples and ruins in Cambodia, ate (and cooked) tasty Thai food... and we are now sooo terribly exhausted! ("today's" flights were BKK-NRT-ORD-PHL-ROA) Much more to post once I'm recovered and at least somewhat back ( Read more... )

Thanks! It really was an incredible time, especially walking through the ancient temples of Angkor Wat in Cambodia. If you ever consider heading that way, visiting the Siam Reap area was surprisingly easy to do and to get around. Many people speak English as well as Khmer, business is conducted in US$, and the country is still desperately in need of money so the people are very welcoming of visitors. It's all pretty inexpensive too -- $50 buys you a guide, a driver, and a car for a whole day, and another ~$50 gets a nice two-story boutique hotel "room". If only it was so cheap and easy to get there from here.

Wow, yeah, I had heard that it was really cheap to get around there. I'm going to get there eventually.

Thanks! Hopefully Kim and I will get our photos organized over the next few days, perhaps with story time over dinner at Cafe de Bangkok one evening (though stories from one evening aren't appropriate for all audiences [whistles innocently]).
