Ask My Characters Anything

Winter Tide comes out on Tuesday, and I should be all over book promotion. But it turns out that having a book coming out in a couple of days is no ward against cramps and fussy toddlers; my motivation has collapsed into a pile of goo.

As a proper market-y person I should remind you that you'll be able to find the book at your favorite local indie ( Read more... )

I wish I could come to one of your launches, but I'm in Wisconsin from Tuesday to Sunday. I'll be sending good thoughts your way!

To any being of Yith

Hey, if you guys are good (at least neutral, and not outright aggressive) then why do you keep driving my investigators insane and beating the crap out of them whenever I play Arkham/Eldritch. Also, got any tips on Migo extermination?

The Member of the Great Race Who Currently Prefers To Be Called Catherine Trumbull:

If your investigators' sanity is so fragile as to be unable to handle our mere presence, that's hardly our responsibility. Perhaps they should seek out a line of work more insulated from library science.

I do admit to some sympathy with your Migo problem. Exasperating creatures, who flit between dimensions infesting every planet they can reach, but never settle on any world thoroughly enough to understand it. "We tell Nyarlathotep everything we learn in our prayers" is not exactly good archival technique. Unfortunately they are, like cockroaches, impossible to exterminate. And unlike cockroaches, they never do seem to evolve into anything useful.

Hi. I just finished your book and it was great. I like how you're building on the genre; true to Lovecraft but less some unnecessary tropes, cliches and dated views.
Kind of like what John Scalzi did for military scifi

Please keep writing
And let us know when you plan to novelize 'Those Who Watch' :)

Can I ask one more question?
Would Aphra be willing to share her saltcake recipe?
