I have just been made aware that there are only two weekends left before the Big Weekend of All-Con.

Excuse me while I panic for a minute.

Ok, ok, I'm ok.

(!!!!!!!)

I guess I'll be doing a lot of power pointing at lunch for the next two weeks. Fortunately I can do the majority my presentation at work, as I have the same version of Power Point at home. And the reason I have to work on it at work? I have to finish props and costume bits at home.

To Do:
  • Corset, which is now also a tool belt of sorts
  • Bolero
  • Shirt? very low on the priorities list
  • Grappling hook thingy
  • At least one squirt gun paint mod
  • Holster for said squirt gun
  • Tea dyeing and/or distressing a purchased canvas apron, also very low on the priorities list as it may not be worn
  • Distressing a small sketchbook and filling in a few pages
  • Holders for drawing and measuring implements, sample containers, sample acquiring devices (I have to have one of my B.A.S. Sample Retrievers, if only so I can explain what B.A.S. stands for), and my fancy-schmancy scroll case (that needs to be secured to a fare-thee-well 'cause it cost a chunk of change)
  • Creating some maps 'n stuff to go in the scroll case, also also low on the priorities list--probably the uttermost bottom
  • Acquiring some small binoculars, mitts (not lace--cloth or leather), samples to put in some of the sample containers, and a few more measuring implements (Yay for still having the majority of my tax return!)

*gulp* I'm thinking not all of that will get done. But you can see where I'm going with the character.

It's funny, but even though I've got the almost-but-not-quite-clichéd Sky Pirate thing going, you can still see how she is a record keeper. Minerva Harper, Chronicler Adventuress.

Ooo! Just had a Eureka! moment on the corset. I've been stressing about figuring out all the loops and attachments and what have you before sewing on the binding--but I can just put a row of heavy duty snaps around the bottom and then everything will be interchangeable. The snap covers will look like decorative studs when they aren't being used. I like that.

to do list, convention, steampunk
