So today Seth went to the Air Force recruiter and it didn't work out like we thought it would. They told him we would have to move out of state in order for him to get all the good benefits and what not. I'm really disappointed but for some reason I'm relieved also. I don't know, I just feel like we both fail at everything we do. I'm 19 years old ( Read more... )

Well at least you know if you guys get absolutely desperate for all those benefits, there IS a way to get them. Sid is one of the happiest kids in the world, Ashley. You're an absolutely wonderful mother. You take the best care of him. You have a family who absolutely loves him and spoils him with toys and is ALWAYS willing to help you out with him. You guys aren't dysfunctional hahahaha. These days I definitely think you'd classify as normal. I mean.. what is NORMAL these days? What is dysfunctional?

Always know things are going to get worse before they get better. And sometimes it takes things falling to rock bottom. Because then the only way you have left to go is up.

PS: I lurked and it said she's going home in 2 weeks. THAT BETTER NOT MEAN TO CO. I would die.

And thanks for saying all that it means alot to me. I just feel like i'm the shittiest mom ever. Seth may not be the best Dad ever, but he really doesn't know how to be one. He never had a dad around or even met his dad. So I try to be understanding with him. And of course he does have a lot more of growing up than I do. But w/e I just want to be the best hahaha

You're really NOT a crappy mom. You might not have a lot of money, but who's to say having a lot of money determines what kind of parent you are? A lot of kids in The Woodlands are perfect examples of how you can have all the money in the world and still not be a good parent. You have all of the love in the world for your son, and that's the most important thing. You find a way to provide him with what he needs. Seth does have a lot of growing up to do, but I'd never question his love for Sid. If he didn't love him, he wouldn't still be around.

You don't give yourself enough credit, lady! All you can really do is have patience with Seth and try your best to guide him in the right direction with things, and help him out. What he needs most is you to be understanding of the way he is when it comes to being a dad, and you completely do that. :)

PS: you don't have to private this! not unless you really want to
