Great Writing

As a parent to 2 boys and having had nephews this isn't too far off the mark of the crazy stuff lil' boys come up with to entertain themselves. They are still young enough to come up with something like this innocently. As adults our minds automatically go to the "bad" way it would be interpreted but to them it’s just fun.
I think John handled this pretty much the same way any parent would. You struggle with not wanting to discipline out of anger but the knowledge that your children know better. John’s love shows with how much thought went into disciplining the boys without being angry. My heart broke for John when he looked over to see the little belt marks on their bottoms, I’ve been in the exact same position a time or two but you steel your heart cause it needs to be done.
I loved how you detailed the bickering, it was so realistic. It’s funny how Sam and Dean are “grown” on the show but this sounds just like them.
Once again, great writing. I can’t wait to read more!

Thank you so much for your comments. I was beginning to worry that it had turned out too graphic for everyone. My goal was to amuse, not repulse. Hopefully, my future posts will not have such gratuitous use of bodily fluids in them.

As far as the bickering, I just remember fighting with my brothers and I try to use the same tone, but adapted to how I think the boys would have sounded at that age. I'm glad you thought I did okay with capturing their personalities in their disagreements. I do a lot of thinking and rewriting to get it as close to how I hear it in my head.

I appreciate your feedback, because if I think people like my writing, it encourages me to do more. Hopefully the stories I have rolling around in my head will find their way to my computer soon.
