I went to see them yesterday, at the Royal Albert Hall.
Before I ramble on to my totally-subjective-and-not-that-credible account of events, let me just brag my mobility in almost-zero temperatures WITH NO COAT.  THE ENTIRE DAY.  I MUST BE INSANE.

I left the house at approx 12.30pm, ran some errands at the bank and Post ( Read more... )

Oh I am JEALOUS. THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL????? I have actually NEVER EVER been there. I actually did have the opportunity a few years back, on a school trip, but I was sick and missed it :( It sounds like you had a totally awesome time, though. And you sound seriously musical - what and when did you use to play, and what level did you get to? I'm a curious little beaver when it comes to these crazy trivial subjects :) I did use to play the cello about two years ago - I got to Grade 3, but I was too lazy and didn't practise, and THEN I slacked in my lessons and lost all interest. So I gave up. And I do kinda regret that, because I love music. I used to take singing lessons too. WHY DO I QUIT ALL OF THESE THINGS? I don't know. *sigh*

SCHOOL TRIP TO THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL? THAT IS SO COOL. WHY DID I ALWAYS JUST GET BRITISH MUSEUM X 9685 TIMES? (I have also just realised you live in England. Major fail. And here I was wondering why you'd type 'mum' instead of 'mom' *headdesk ( ... )

lol, I got the British Museum enough times myself, actually :) I only had the opportunity to go to the Albert because I was singing in my school choir. But I missed it anyway, so whatever ^^. And OMG, it is SO awesome to find more English people on here - most of my friends here are from the US, SO I'M EXCITED TO FIND AN ENGLISH PERSON! And I actually DID use to live in London as well - Uxbridge. But only for like, two years ^^. But wait, wait. Are you actually FROM England, or do you just live here? Because you said you moved around a lot, as in continents. IDK.
AND OMG. I MANAGED TO MISS APOSTROPHE 2. I HAVE TO GO FINDDD IT, AS IN NOW. OMG. *runs off*

No, I'm not English. I'm actually Taiwanese, beautiful little island otherwise known as Formosa, which is actually 'beautiful island' in Portuguese. (You can check out my userinfo page, there's a little picture^^) I was born there, but grew up here (London and Lancs) so English is my native language. I went back for senior high and university because of my parents. I came back to the UK for my masters, which I've just completed. I'm actually going back next week (I may have a job as an English teacher), so I won't be in London anymore, boo.
Taiwan is actually very Americanised, our educational system is similar (junior and senior high) and I had loads of American professors in uni (I was an English major). As a kid I had major identity crisis, I felt I was English but I wasn't. I've grown out of it now, but I'll still always think of England as home. (Helps that I'm not half as coherent in another language, uh, minor panic right there.) Hope I didn't bore you^^
