The conflating of two = one post

I was reading about S&H death fics on a message board, while at the same time putting together lists of friendship quotes for another purpose.

I'm not ready to comment on whether or not I will ever read death fics - although one should never be absolute. Right now, they don't appeal to me, as I've just recently discovered the guys and like them ( Read more... )

"Call me complicated" - *smile*. Is that like when Hutch asked Hug to call him a cab (The Fix), and Hug said, "Okay, you're a cab..."

Which vid is that? I would like to see it - see if it works better for me in vids.

Thanks!

Oh...I like to agree with the idea of a stronger Hutch. Thank you - I will view it.

I rather like death fics when I'm in the mood, and I've written them with considerable pleasure, if that doesn't sound morbidly weird. For me, what I like exploring is grief, rather than the gory details of death itself. It's a personal emotional kink, I guess.

Yes, exactly. And the idea of loving SO much, SO hard, losing one of them would be like losing a limb for the other. And working through that -- sometimes that's what I want to read.

Angel, another quote from a song -- actually, one I vidded (not trying to promote myself, lol) because of this line as it made me think of the boys, is:

If there's no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark

Laura - please tell me where the quote is from - the attribution. I want to add it to my list. Love it! For me, right now, because they love each other so damn much - I can't bear the thought of them being separated forever - forever from this earth anyway.

Which vid, please?

I like only one death fic. I read it because I trusted the author and I loved it. I don't read other death fics than this one.

And here is a nice story (not a death fic, trust me LOL) if you were interested:

Thanks for sharing your reading habits thus far on death fic, nicky. Thanks for the link! I'll save it in my reference book for a later read.

I always said I would never write a death fic, but I did! It was a series of drabbles, and it was about grief, the aftermath--not about dying, but about living with loss. :)

I think you should read and write what you like. This fandom is for fun, not to make us read things we don't want to. :) So happily read only, er, live-fics, if you want. ^___^

p.s. What's the message board? (Always curious about new ones, lol.) :)

Y'know Little Bear - I read death fic of a different variety at one time, long ago. My mother threatened to take my copy of "Little Women" away when I was a child...I kept reading the part where Beth died over & over and then following her around the house snuffling & wanting to talk about why it was so sad and why I felt so sad. :-(

Msg board in yahoo - Me&Thee - wonderful discussions there and lively and brilliant folks! :-)

Thanks. ^^

I was kind of like that when I was a kid, with animal stories where the animals die...I hated them, but I could not resist reading them anyway, and usually crying a lot.

Hi sweet blondie friend! Yes, they so made me think of our boys. I agree with you...thinking ahead and accepting the changes and transitions to come. I'm still enjoying the boys wild & alive! Have you written any poems on these themes - exploring grief, the boys pondering what it would be like to lose the other?
