On Gossip-For Better or for Worse, Angel Ponders...

I've had gossip on my mind for awhile now - from the concept to the application...in real life (workplace, friends we know, in the neighborhood) and in fandom. And since the thoughts don't want to budge from my brain, I thought I'd just jot them down. Maybe along the way, a point or two will come out.

Good day to you, Nancy - thanks for visiting here. I doubt you have the ugliest garden in Texas. And I glanced at the new article at Terri's but need to read it more closely. I liked what I scanned - I find his honesty appealing. It can't have been easy living through that crazy time.

You know, when I discovered fandom and the beautiful people here, I thought it's an absolutely safe place to enjoy. But here it is all there too - grudge, jealousy and so on. When I noticed that, I really was shocked. I couldn't believe it could happen to a place where people meet with the same interests and passion.
Actually I don't want to cope here with the same problems like in real life. I can't control with whom I have to work, but I can control with whom I share my off time. So I try to focus on the dear and good hearted people here.

Your garden is really really beautiful, Angel!!!

Hi Bee-Angel. Good points all the way around. I know there is zero chance of any utopia anyplace - in real life or fandom life - but sometimes things stick in my craw. I don't like people getting hurt...

But yes, I am grateful for the good people who give me no reason to question anything - and you are in that club.

I easily get hurt too, but I can cope to get hurt better than seeing how people I love get hurt. I can get really upset then.

Thanks for asking, my friend. No, I'm feeling worse. My voice said totally 'bye-bye' and wasn't found since yesterday and at that I got a bad cough too. I called one of my colleagues today and already checked out for work tomorrow. It wasn't easy, since I just could whisper at phone. We both had to laugh about that ridiculous phone call, but she said I should definitely visit my doc tomorrow.

Okay though...yes, you must go to the doctor and get that voice and throat thing sorted. I know all too well about doctor avoidance. :-( I need to start the march toward a surgery, and boy oh boy, am I dragging my heels.

I agree totaly with everything. Like you I have a low profile and don't see many direct attacks but I do hear of them and I to wish people would just ask. *Sigh*

I am not naive person even though I often sound like one but I decided a long time ago that I will never understand mean people and they are a waste of my time so I ignore them. My true friends know who I am and what kind of person I am. and for me that is all that matters.

I know what a wonderful caring person you are. and I now lots of others will tell you the same. :)

I think you are right - the people who know you...they see the "real" person and have chosen their friends wisely. I'm fortunate that you also chose me. :-) I think we can get a very pretty garden for you in your new place...just the right size for an artist with a busy life.
