I'm all for free love and free anything. Writing fics and posting them, I believe, is now integrated in the United Nations Convention of Human Rights (it's somewhere there, I know, probably written in lemon ink). Anyone who deems they should write and share it, should do so. Writing is a wonderful way to express ourselves. Nonetheless, anyone who deems they should write should also thrive to improve their craft. That is not to say not to post when you think you've written crap but you should really, really try to make it better. And another: read good books. I can never say that enough. READ BOOKS.

my sentiment, totally. nobody forces you to read what's on a comm, though it sometimes gets tiring to try and sort out good fic from bad fic. (maybe i'm a hypocrite because i totally would join a community where there is only good fic, though)

the problem is, maybe, that most of the authors don't try to improve. since i joined the fandom, i've seen a lot of author grow into their writing, but most of them keep making the same mistakes.
