It just occurred to me that Mr. Baumel, my middle school tech teacher, called this pending Oil Crisis in like 1999. He told us it would happen within the next 30 years and that most things we depended on employed petroleum, that the world as we knew it was ending and that he may not but we would certainly live to see this happen. Mr. Baumel may have been snazzy, but he was nothing without his Partner in Crime, Donald Bruschi.

Mr. Baumel just got mad in times of trouble; Mr. Bruschi had an iron-clad control of his classroom with lunch detentions and fear of lunch detention. And an exhaustive knowledge of Power Point. All Mr. Baumel could do was make wooden boxes.
