Dragon Prime - continued 4

Heavy, she feels so heavy. Her eyes itch so she reaches to rub them and discovers that only her left arm will move. She opens her eyes and quickly closes them again. Taking a slow breath she relaxes. She doesn't know what the doctors have given her but she knows that she could not have seen what she thought she saw. Everyone knows that there is no such thing as dragons, not even tine little dragons so she could not have had one sitting right in front of her face. She rubs the gunk from her eyes carefully and slowly opens them to look around and sees more dragons. So not possible. She closes her eyes and tries to focus. Clearly she is experiencing hallucinations. This is not a good side effect and she will have to let the nurse or doctor know once she sees them. For now she just want the multitude of mixed colored hallucinations to go away. After a bit she slowly opens first one eye and then the next. Gone, the images of dragons in blues, greens, browns, and metallic bronze are gone. She looks around and well, they are mostly gone. One lone "dragon" is laying curled up on top of her blanket which looks to be made from a very high quality of fake fur. One simply does not find real fur in the wilds of space.

Looking around she sees that the room she is in is carved out of stone. Not much of a surprise in that. Its not unusual for out posts to be constructed with in the bedrock or planetoids, moon and asteroids. What is surprising, besides the hallucination that seems to be sleeping on top of her, is that her right arm is entirely incased in some sort of white rock like substance. Lifting up her blanket, which has a smooth soft texture unlike anything she has ever felt, she sees that her chest and right leg are also incased in the same odd rock like substance. Why ever would they do that? She could not imagine a reason for them doing that. She wonders what the stuff is and figures that it has to be some sort of new treatment for something. They would have simply used gel casts for broken bones. That's what is generally done.

She covers back up and looking at the strange hallucination thinks ^Once I see someone you are going to go away^ the brown dragon image raises its head, yawns and then sends aback a sense of idol amusement and general sleepiness. Analia stares at it as it slowly repositions itself on her leg and goes back to sleep. From what she could see the thing has a patch of blue circling its neck like a collar of some sort. She mentally adjusts the materials that are supporting her head and leans back to see that the other hallucinations are all sitting up in the rafters above her. She idly notices that while some of them have similar collars of color around their necks most of them do not. Irritated by this she sends out to the lot of them ^Leave me alone^ and feels a sense of satisfaction to see the entire crowd above her disappear just as she hears foot steps out side of the room she is in.

She is laying there staring up at the rafters when she hears two people enter the room. A strange voice says "It looks like she is awake". Analia glances over to see two men walking up to her bed and tries to talk to them but all she can manage is a course raspy "Golanth?" The men look startled. She notices that the older man has a hunched back and silently wonders why it had not been corrected. The younger man is tall, with light brown hair and rather attractive. He looks at her and says "No, I'm F'lessan Golanth's rider." The other man walks over too her and starts to examine her. He informs her "I'm master healer Oldive you might not want to talk much right off, I have something her for your throat" he pours some liquid into a cup and says "Hear drink this" as he raises the cup to her lips. Analia takes a gulp of the fluid and nearly spits it out. The substance has a foul taste to it but it does soothe her throat as she swallows. She makes herself drink the entire contents of the cup and half whispers "That is horrid. I don't suppose you have any that's cherry flavored?"

The older man, Oldive, looks at her and clears his thought before saying "I don't even know what cherry flavored is." He motions to F'lessan and continues "I'm glad to see you doing so well. You were in really bad shape when you were found." Analia looks at him puzzled "Found? What about the pilots? Did they not bring the ship into dock? They are all right are they not?" F'lessan looks at the old man before moving over too her and saying "I'm sorry. The ship you were in crashed here you were the only person we found." He pauses to let the news sink in for a bit before sitting down next to the bed she is in "Well, I don't suppose we could get your name?" She lays there for a while in the quiet room before speaking "I am Analia. Potential Prime Analia Green. We tried to take a short cut threw an interdicted system and were struck by several unknown objects. I figured that the pilots maneuvered the ship out of the system and flew us here."
F'lessan sits staring at the woman's clear blue eyes and replies "Well, Analia" he stumbles slightly over the strange name "you don't really look green. Not to me any way. Potential prime, is that your title?"

Analia laughs slightly before realizing that the man is seriously asking her about it. She looks at him puzzled "Well, yes, sort of. It's as much what I am as a title and Green is my sir name." It starts to dawn on her that neither man told her their sir names "Do you not have family names?" F'lessan looks at her "I don't quit know what your talking about. What is a sir or family name?" She stares at him for a moment "It is just a way of identifying what family you belong too. Parents, siblings, cousins and the like." She sighs "I am wondering if you could adjust the medications that you have been giving me. I fear that I am having a rather disturbing reaction to it?" Oldive looks her over closely "What sort of reaction? I don't see any signs of a rash of any sort" She looks over at the man and responds "Oh, nothing quite so simple. I have been experiencing hallucinations and that is something of a bother you know." Oldive looks at her and asks "What sort of hallucinations?" Analia runs her free hand threw her hair and responds "You will likely find this silly but I was seeing little dragons earlier. They were not even all the same color."
F'lessan burst out laughing and pats her on the shoulder "You were seeing right. We just can't seem to keep them out. Wild and tame fire-lizards have been coming and going all week to see what you look like." he pauses to catch his breath as she stares at him with a very bewildered look on her face "They are all very interested in the person who "fell out of the sky" She blinks her eyes several times and says "Fire-lizards? There are animals here called fire-lizards? Were am I?" A certain amount of concern creeps into her voice. "According to the charts the only planet near by that could have life was reclassified as hazardous. Failed colony and all." Seeing looks of confusion she continues. "According to the records for the system we tried to cut threw it contained what was originally classified as an earth type planet only when people tried to colonize it the settlement was destroyed by some sort of organism that consumed and destroyed any organic it touched."

F'lessan stares at her "I think these records are misleading. You just described thread and we have been dealing with it effectively for generations." He stands up and continues "I wouldn't worry about it. We are perfectly safe." She Turns her head to look at him and asks "So, were is Golanth? I have been wanting to see the man who has been in my head helping me keep everyone out" F'lessan looks down at her and tells her "Golanth is a dragon and I made him go out and hunt - he really needed to eat something." F'lessan pauses getting a distracted look on his face as he sends "she is awake and she asked about you." to Golanth. Analia sees the look and waits for him to re focus before saying "What level talent are you?" F'lessan replies " Talent? I'm not really sure what you are talking about." Oldive moves in with a huff and starts to shoo F'lessan out of the room telling them both "That enough, your guest need to rest so that she can heal. She could also use something to eat." With that the two men leave the room and Analia realizes that she really is tired. She wonders briefly as she drift off just how strong the gravity actually is and how long it would be before she got used to it.
