Signs of the Times

I may have moved away from Covina over 40 years ago, but there are still many reminders of my life growing up there on display around my house. Most prominent are these two wooden signs, both more than 70 years old now.

The crane was an omiyage to my father; the only one I kept out of dozens that he received over the years. Always loved the simple grace of the figure. It's now one of my most treasured family mementos. :-)

Thank you. :-) Both signs will probably end up as kindling and the stories forgotten after I'm gone, but at least for now they're preserved and cherished. It's the best I can do!
