What’s most interesting to me about this list isn’t the songs, but the artists. I could hum most of these songs, and dredge up lyrics from my AM listening days, but the groups can be elusive. I mean, who doesn’t know Mungo Jerry? I could never have come up with Edwin Star, though!
At least half of these songs are by 'one hit wonders'! Shouldn't feel bad for their nominal obscurity, though. I should have been so lucky to spend one day in a recording studio and produce a song whose royalties would end up supporting me and my family comfortably without me having to work another day in my life. ^^
