I know. I have been in both London and Rome when US Presidents came a-callin', and each time the nuisance and disruption to ordinary people has been unbelievable. If those state visits were meant to build up goodwill, I tell you, they have a weird way to go about it.

As for the peace delusion - I would call it harmless, were it not that he seems to have swallowed the Palestinian line, hook, line and sinker.

I read that they have been deploying more cops & soldiers for the president's security than they used to disengage the Gaza Strip. Apparently the largest operation they've done since the Pope visited in 2000. I agree - not so much with the goodwill! Israelis seem to have conflicted feelings toward Bush overall, at least the ones I've spoken with.

And it's ironic with the Palestinians, because the other day Palestinians bombed an American school in Gaza. Welcome to Israel, Mr. President!

As far as I can tell, he hasn't said anything that no one else hasn't said before. Make concessions, dismantle settlements, remove terrorism - etc. What's new?

I am curious about progress in dismantling Jewish settlements in the West Bank. I have been to some of them in the last few months, and the only way they will leave is if they are dragged away.
