Oh, Angelus is an amazing villain..I enjoy every scene he's in! And as you said, he uses psyche to get to his victims and that's bloody brilliant!! Also, Passion's one my favorite episodes.
Absolutely right, Angelus is always within Angel. There's not a shred of goodness within Angelus - it shows that Buffy is truly in love with Angel's soul, which is, pardon me, so romantic.
Angelus is the epitome of evil. He can be charming when he wants, and it doesn't hurt that he is gorgeous to look at. His victims must practically fall into his arms. He plots and plans, he has agendas. He plays with his prey, he enjoys making people suffer. His mind games can be devastating, and he uses those to great effect against Buffy.
