And if said electronic gadgets are still within the one year warranty period, go get them fixed. But if your luck is anything like mine, the gadgets die soon after the one year warranty expires :(

Hmm..maybe cat hair got into the mechanism. Yes, dust and cat hair are banes to electronics.

the cat har no to so much, but dust, heat and excessive jarring definately in the car. Its a 4wd, and gets used as such regularly.

Maybe I should just set up the lighter charger for my laptop so I can take my entire playlist on long trips. that could work... *rubs hands in glee*

Err...laptop HDD and moving vehicle. This is a good idea, how? Although technology has improved by leaps and bounds, I am still sure that sudden jolts will cause HDD crashes which will lead to you singing the funeral dirge for your laptop. Ok, I should stop being funny.

when I take the laptop in the car its on a carry case that is shock resistant as opposed to bolted into the dashboard just above the front axle :-P

I also sit it on a cussion to reduce the jarring.
