I never know what to say to Trump supporters. Obviously there's more opportunities for communication online, but rarely do I have the chance to see them in person. I'll make sure to give them the the thumb's up when I do XD Good luck with the new job! It's always awkward to start one, but I wish you the best.
Thank you! I think the new job is going to work out well.
Re Trump supporters, I always tell our people, "there are more of us than you think" and it's true, at least outside of deep-blue pockets like Portland. Hillsboro is an especially fertile ground (literally) because it's just outside of the city but it's agricultural and borderline rural; so there are a lot of quiet conservatives who go unnoticed. The internet and the media tend to exaggerate the apparent numbers of the other side, that's why I love being involved in facilitating in-person get-togethers for us.
Being friendly and decent with other people out in the real world - whether or not they're on the same "team" as you - is SOOO important especially in these difficult times. It's what keeps the social contract going, and it's what reminds us that - whatever our politics - we all need one another in this world.
