Dialects are such a funny thing. I remember years ago, when we had Bunny in the preschool co-op, one of the other parents there was a good-looking red-haired woman, N., who had immigrated from England. And she always spoke veddy proppah London English. But she was born in Ireland, and when she started talking about her childhood - BOOM! suddenly there's this Irish lass standing there. She sounded like a completely different person. It was the most amazing thing.
I think you are omitting at least "to give orders," the function of the imperative mood in a wide range of languages. The relationship there is not the same as in "to make a request."
I might also name "to make a promise," but perhaps that could be included under "to establish a relationship."
There is also the simple expression of feeling, as in a cry of pain or a sigh or moan of pleasure. I suppose it could be said that that isn't "communication," but if there were no benefit from revealing feelings to others, would we have those forms of behavior?
