This is the synagogue where I used to pray when I lived in Southwest Portland a couple of years ago.

I was wondering if there would be any backlash towards the Jewish community with Trump's peace deal. It is a very sad thing and I'm sorry to read but thank you for sharing.

Thank you. It's too early to say for sure who's behind it or why, but with the blackshirt thugs racking up 80 nights of broken glass in downtown Portland, it would not surprise me if the anti-Semitism finally starts coming out of the shadows.

No, this is in the Hillsdale neighborhood in Southwest Portland, far from downtown. You would have to make a special trip to go there. And it's in the Jewish neighborhood (to the extent that Portland has a Jewish neighborhood).

So, the shul fire wasn't random; they knew exactly what they were doing. It may not have been directly connected to the riots downtown, but I suspect the act was emboldened by the riots and perhaps committed or orchestrated by some of the same parties.
