No one is more familiar with how quickly change can occur than me. One day, an empire can exist that seems as if it will last for eternity. The very next day, it can be erased from the world as if it had never been. For nearly a quarter of a century, my life was static and uneventful. Then change slipped inside and has been in residence ever since ( Read more... )

If you think it's expired, do you mind if a summoner helps you renew it?

I had not known it was renewable. Is the cost as great as the one I paid for the pessimism?

The cost is tremedous, but the worth is more than anything pessimism could give.

I suppose it could not hurt to give it a try.

.. you'll have to wait in line. I'm killing him first for getting into trouble again.

...

Very well. Afterward, I shall ask Sephiroth to resurrect him so that I may have a turn.

That sounds alright.

How could I deny my little Prince, after all.

[ Rufus, you have made Vincent smile in his tension. Give yourself a cookie. ]

I would say that I regret the return of your memory of that particular nickname, but I find it preferable to 'princess' so I shall not complain overly much. Perhaps you could impress upon your former boyfriend that I am a man?

[ooc; It's a sad, sad day in Vertere when Rufus is the comic relief. ^_-]

[Y'know, s'not like he goes out lookin' f'r trouble! ..... it just... kinda... finds him at inopportune times? He's a magnet f'r trouble, i swear....]

Are you trying to protect him from the wrath of his friends, Cait, or do you honestly believe that?

[... both? I know he's a right pain- hell, he's my bloody creator- but he doesn't ever mean t' get inta th' kinda scrapes he does. S' lot like what happened at th' Sister Ray. Bloke tries ta stick up f'r what he believes in an' gets thrown out t' rot. Y' know what they say, road t' Hell's paved wi' good intentions... he's bloody well paved a four-lane highway at this point.

... he ain't quite been right since th' trial, really... bugger, I shouldn' be talkin' 'bout him like this....]

It would help if he were to take a break with all the paving. We have enough roads at this point. Look at the damn place.

No, Cait, I think you should be. You tell it how it is. Reeve worries too much about the thoughts and feelings of others. Godsforbid he tells us what he is thinking, or worse yet, thinking, for fear of us all falling to pieces. We cannot help him if he refuses to let us in, and we will not give up simply because he thinks that by making it difficult we will.

The world changing in the blink of an eye.

An interesting topic, but what would you truly know about it?

You have obviously never been to Gaia. Once upon a time it was a fairly stable, peaceful now. Now it is in a perpetual state of flux, teetering precariously on the edge of collapse. And every time one would think the problems had been solved, a new catastrophe beaks out.

That kind of change, hm? Sounds a little boring compared to what I was thinking you meant. ♥

Boring? Might you tell me your definition of change?
