Gas prices

So, everyone knows about the gas hike. Everyone's pissed off about it. The Wawa by my house just raised their price to $3.09 when it was only $2.51 a few short days ago. The most distressing thing about this is that Wawa usually has the cheapest gas around ( Read more... )

It's so surreal. I see all these people here now and I'm just like..wow.

It didn't even accur to me that all the Lousianans would be coming to Texas but it makes sense. Gods..if I was from Lousiana first place I would go is Bushes ranch to knock some sense into the damn cowboy.

Gas prices. Geesh. Glad we got a hybrid a while back. But like you said..can't complain because there's a whole city wiped out.

It's just still continuing to baffle me. The disaster is so widespread. My university is allowing college students from NO residence. It kinda feels like we're doing something to help, but it's nothing compared to what's needed.

And gas, ugh, prices went up again...oh girl, don't even get me started. lol!

I feel terrible about the whole thing, it's so unreal. Wasn't there a gas crisis in the 70's? I hope it doesn't get that bad..

Yeah there was. Hopefully things'll get better, but I have a feeling they're gonna get worse first. My friend Shawn is predicting the end of the middle class.

This whole situation is just so...horrible.

Angie, I just wrote a nice angry rant about it. It's got history in it too, just what a history major should do when discussing a topic.

And those lines...yeah they had those in the 70's too.

And on Katrina, the news just likes to exploit the bad stuff. While news stations ocver the fighting, scavaging and looting, why not help the people there and bring up POSITIVE issues.

Good rant.

Let's just hope that thing's get straightened out...although I think we both know it won't happen anytime soon. :/

Good thought, but not good in principle. The American people already see the disaster footage, shrug and say "That's terrible", and go back to eating their TV dinners. Maybe if they're continually pelted with the shocking realization that PEOPLE ARE STARVING AND RUNNING AROUND IN ANARCHY WITHIN THE UNITED STATES, there will finally be some pressure for our dumbass president to stop wasting our money/resources by destroying the infrastructures of other nations, and actually do something to help here.

I just want to say how impressed I am that Angie has enough fuel price knowledge to know that $70 is "staggering" for a barrel of oil. There are certain items that I just have no pricing knowledge of: Women's underwear, moonshine, cattle, the kind of socks with the individual toes, wheelchairs, riding lawn mowers, fur coats, imported butter, chain saw blades, barrels of oil, and vacations to Russia. If I had to buy any of these items I would have no clue what I should or shouldn't pay. Twenty bucks sounds reasonable for a wheelchair. Right? And I might pay a couple grand for a steer. I have no clue. So, kudos to Angie for knowing enough about oil to get upset by the cost!

It's a shame that you don't know the price of wheelchairs, because now we can't have wicked cool wheelchair fights.
