So I just took the worst test ever. I don't think I've ever felt more unprepared for a test in my life! The professor gave us a review sheet and said that if we study it we'll be fine. So I studied my sheet and there was definitely a ton of shit on there that was in NO WAY on the review sheet. I'd say I guessed on a good 50% of the questions ( Read more... )

Sadly some people just shouldn't teach at all. Especially the ones who don't even take the time to explain crap.

They say that when learning, it's better not to memorise the content but to understand. That way you'll never forget it.

That's my philosophy. This guy makes it damn near impossible because he just plows through. He's more concerned with covering the material. Such is the case with summer classes though.

I also went to the computer lab after taking my test... and a few minutes later down plunks Angie in the seat next to me, typing furiously... then she left the room and starting reading in the comfy chairs without saying a word...

Now I know what she was typing... good to know... I was in the computer lab a few minutes before her because I guess on about 60% of the questions... but to stick it to the man, Angie and I skipped out on the second half of class about 10 minutes after this was posted :)

Only 5 classes left though :)

The irony of all this is that people go out of their way to take astronomy because it's the "easy" lab science. You guys just got unlucky with Dr. Chris Farley. I had astronomy two years ago with Farnelli, and it was soooo easy. We didn't get very far in the material, but he made sure we understood what he did teach us. The labs were fun too. I like space. That's all I have to say about that.

Yeah, I'm super pissed we didn't get one of the cool astronomy professors, but what can you do? 5 classes left!!!
