13.02 a few things...

Another rather enjoyable episode. (Tho my heart sank when I saw who wrote the episode (yep, the infamous Duo), but it held together fairly well. :)

I was rather distracted by Sam's hair... )

s13 reaction, supernatural

I had the same reaction to the writer credits and also the same feeling after the ep. :) Also, I'm not getting a lot of joy out of Lucifer either as he's just doing his bad guy monologue all the time.

I completely share your love for the boys being able to talk and disagree and still not fight with each other. <3

That's probably what it is for me too. The kind of delight I used to get out of him is gone (maybe it was the writing? Not sure...)

Yes! to all the above, and was thinking the same thing....didn't demons used to be scary? Overuse is a huge problem in this show, and demons are a casualty of a 13 year run. (what a weird sentence!) Angels were conceptually flawed from the beginning, in my opinion, but demons were genuinely scary in those first two seasons.

I really love Jack, and I appreciate seeing Sam and Dean's relationship at this point. Like any good marriage, they seem to have learned to let it go and agree to disagree. For the time being, at least. Dependent but not co-dependent. Now don't get me wrong. I like co-dependent Sam and Dean just fine, but I think that storyline has worn out its welcome.

Jensen and Jared are awesome and I cannot imagine getting tired of watching them share a screen.

*nods* to all! I'm really loving Jack too. The actor is bring a nice nuance to it. And it's kinda fun seeing Sam and Dean as parents. :)

I cannot imagine getting tired of watching them share a screen.

It's still what keeps making me come back!

Shockingly good episode considering the writing credits, but then this show does like to throw us curve-balls occasionally, including making something good when we expect dross from certain people.

I did like seeing Michael. That was a treat, and he's angry!

Dean and Sam speaking, yes, all the yes. And Jack, I'm slowly but surely falling quite in love with him.

I'm with you - a strong ep from these two! When we opened to hell, I did have a little sad sigh; I was kind of hoping we'd get less of the demon drama now that Crowley is gone. I too miss the days when demons were scary, but I did enjoy the new YED's entry, he does have a presence about him that reminds me of the good old day :)

All the scenes with the boys and Jack I enjoyed, and I was happy to be Donatello back and surprising fine without his soul. I'm hoping we'll eventually see a crack in Dean's armour as I'm not sure I want a whole season of him like this, but maybe it's all too painful for him to have any hope right now, like he's protecting himself from the pain of being let down again so Mary had to be dead and Jack has be evil.

Sam's hair is indeed delicious (I'd like a few shorter pieces at the front though) but lovely fluffy volume!!! And tattoo, we got to see the tattoo *faints*!!! Take care, and I'm loving seeing some thinky thoughts from you *hugs*

Oh yes! The tattoo! That was indeed a treat. :) I enjoyed that scene also (though not sure if a tattoo like that would have worked on a nephilim anyway?)

My fave Sam hair was S8 - those lovely loooong locks. Anything that's not that bob I'm happy with. :))

So true about the demons being boring. Re: John's journal, I agree with what you said about angels and them being way beyond what he would have recorded. But perhaps that was simply lore about hell which I think he probably did pay attention since demons came from somewhere and could be sent back there with an exorcism.

I also liked Jack doing the mimicking. It makes me wonder if Sam used to do that with Dean when they were little.

Ah yes! That's a good thought. I'm absolutely sure Sam learned things that way. :))
