Yay! I can finally make a positive post about the show. I've been missing that feeling and I am happy to say that feeling of "there's my show!" was back ( Read more... )

ha ha oh the DW dilemma! Mine was just resolved by LJ because LJ refused to let me post my fic so I posted on DW and cross posted here. Way to make life more complicated, internet!

Whaaa? It didn't let you post a fic? It gets glitchy sometimes (or it could be that gorgeous bum userpic! :D)

I'm at the stage where I'm not sure I could deal with the hassle. But then I'd hate to lose contact with everyone...Argh...

Me too!!!!! I love it, and it was everything that I was craving and more!!! To be honest I don't think there was anything that I disliked; it was solidly written, had some twists, the acting was solid, the boys were pretty, and it was tense and suspenseful. Plus the bro-mo at the end couldn't have been more perfect if it tried *happy sigh*

(I realised that I posted on LJ since opening a DW account, and don't know if I can update the import. How frustrating!)

If I may--I've had an account at DW since it was in beta, and xposted *manually* from LJ since I couldn't get auto xpost to work for me. Eventually I stopped xposting, as I was using the DW account less and less.

I did an import last week, and it over-wrote everything, importing my LJ account from its beginning: entries, comments, tags. I didn't ask for my friends list or icons to move, but everything else imported beautifully. Because of current traffic, it did take four days. But usually it takes far less time.

I welcome all DW experts as I'm new over there and still learning what's what.

So even though I only imported a week or so, can I do another import? Or will this somehow delete my account and all the friends I've found and followed? Sorry to bother you, and I hope you don't mind :)

Not at all, as long as ash48 doesn't mind us appropriating her comments.

I'm no expert, but having just gone through a second import I can share what I know. As long as you don't check the box to import your friends list from LJ (again), DW will *only* import the items you check. If that's just entries and comments, then that's all that will import. As I said above, entries and comments were all I chose for my second import--and it did take four days, but I can't find any glitches. Good Luck!

This whole DW dilemma is maddening, but whatcha gonna do. For the time being, guess I'll straddle both journals. Not sure if I'll be importing all of the QR stuff, but I'll certainly be transporting my naughtier things, just in case LJ decides to clean house. But it'll be a pain in the ass because of all the art, either way. Seems I'll have to buy space at DW for all the hosting I wanna do. Blarg.

I've never felt the need to have two journals - until now. I like the idea of Dreamwidth much more (now) than LJ (sadly). The Russian thing bothers me (mostly because of their disgusting treatment of the LGBTI community) and seeing so many peeps migrate makes me think this is a true turning point.

Hope all your amazing art is safe and secure! <3

I set up a DW account, but I really don't like it. I imported everything, but I also dislike that you can't crosspost to DW from here, only manually.

Yeah. Looks like you can only crosspost from DW. I prefer their terms thought and I feel like I just have to get used to the new format. Hard for me as old dog new tricks and all, but I think LJ is (now) problematic. It's just so damn hard letting go....

I set up a DW account, but I think that I'm mostly just going to use it to back up my LJ. I can't really be bothered to cross-post every entry from LJ, and I'm not sure that I want comments in two different places for the same entry

Yeah, it seems the cross posting only works from DW to LJ (I've yet to try it). I'm not too keen on splitting comment either.
