2. How did you come up with your online name(s)? Does it have any special meaning?The very first SPN on-line account I created was for FF.net and I had NO idea what to call myself so I picked my daughter's name and her birth date

You are right about misinterpretations being rife on Twitter. I mean you can get misunderstood anywhere but it's a lot easier to trip over a dropped ball when you've only got 140 characters to say what you mean.

And there's no edit function either!

The lack of edit function is frustrating on Tiwtter. I'm surprised they haven't changed that yet (though some typos are pretty funny...)

Wow, congrats on your lj-versary hun :)

Ditto on the conversational tone of lj. It beats every other social media site hands down for me, but I wonder sometimes if that's because it was (almost) my first social media site and I just can't seem to keep away?

I always planned to make a "thing" about my 10th anniversary - and then it slipped right by me!

LJ used to be my go to place - but I find myself checking Twitter more regularly than LJ these days. LJ will always have a place in my heart though...:D

I entered fandom after the yahoo group days - I heard about them though! I actually heard of people coming over to LJ because the message boards were so horrible...

I love that LJ seems much more friendly (less wank etc) than many of the other places.

I've always found it to be a little like a coffee morning, lol.

We all sit around a table have a nibble and a drink and chatting about all subjects until someone says, "We really need this hall girls, time to clear out!" ;)

LJ is my happy place! I came here from ffnet after some encouragement from harrigan, and I've never looked back. I was late to the LJ party, but I'm staying put (I'm too scared to look on other platforms now; the time I have for fandom in my life is precious to me, and I don't need it to be full of negatively or hate and I never get that here *touch wood*)

I'm always delighted to see you here, and I hope to see lots and lots more of you *hugs*

Oh you came over from ff.net? :) That was the first place I was "social" - I created a community over there (forever ago!) and I still get notifications of people joining it. I'm like...whaaaa..?!

LJ is definitely the happiest of social fandom platforms I reckon. :)

SNAP! I stumbled into fanfic and fandom through ffnet, not really knowing before that it existed. I was looking for some spoilers and pics back in 2006 and then found ffnet, and quietly read and anonymously commented until I got an account, and then started posting myself. I met harrigan there too. It's a small world :)
