Loved this a lot. Agreed with everything you said. As always I just want to point and say, "What she said."

And that vid is awesome.

Not sure I will have time to do a similar post, but I admit I'd like to. Of course I could just say...."what she said." ;P

Thanks hun. I've been wanting to write some stuff and I had a window of opportunity last night. :)

The vid is great isn't it? Always great to get a Dei vid! (especially after I thought we may not see one again…;D)

That vid is a thing of beauty.
*nods*

I really like your recap and find I hold many similar opinions about several seasons.

I am somewhat tired of the brothers at odds with each other, it's almost gotten so bad with the pain and angst that it's in danger of becoming boring. But like you I will continue watching because I really do love the show and these characters are so fascinating to me.

I found watching it 1-2 weeks after it aired (and therefore behind fandom) gave me enough distance season 9 to enjoy it. I will probably do that after the first couple episodes of season 10. I don't seem to watch with the same lens as 90% of people I encounter online - haha.

I am looking forward to MOTW and if there is a scene washing the Impala I just might faint in delight. :)

Vid yay!

Yeah, especially if it just keeps going around and around with no real character growth. I'd love to see that turn around this season I have to say.

I don't think I could bear watching after fandom! I couldn't keep off line long enough to not be spoiled (though, maybe being spoiled might help me be prepared!).

I love MoTW stories and please PLEASE impala washing (Robbie Thompson has been teasing us with it on Twitter).

I think that as long as the writers keep recycling the "one of them is on the verge of death" story, they are going to keep doing shady things to save each other. Otherwise, we have "Sam not looking for Dean in purgatory" outrage all over again. These dudes are extreme and their relationship is extreme -- that's how we got to S10 in the first place. The minute you make these guys ~healthy (whatever the hell that means on a horror show lol) is, frankly, when people will start getting bored.

That being said, the writers should just STOP DOING IT. They don't have to be on the verge of death every year. If there is a problem, let them work as a team/unit/partners and have them figure that shit out before it gets to that point. You can still have angst and drama (an example this year: Mark of Cain sticking around post-demonization) but instead of them doing anything for each other after the fact, have them work together as partners before the fact.

Just my two cents.

Yeah, and I am always torn by this, because on the one hand Sam not looking for Dean shows major character growth - the ability to actually let the other go, but on the other hand as we never got to truly understand that level of development from Sam (dog hit, met girl) it felt out of character. I actually love the idea of Sam attempting to move on without Dean, but I needed so much more in the story to believe Sam could do this (grrr, just thinking about this makes me cross all over again because that story line had so much damn potential for Sam - and Amelia and the exploration of duty and family and loss. Instead it ended up - Sam = bad brother).

The minute you make these guys ~healthy (whatever the hell that means on a horror show lol) is, frankly, when people will start getting bored.Yeah, it's a dilemma. I do love the screwed up nature of their relationship and doing stupid things to save each other is part of that - but it just feels like ( ... )

Unfortunately, I think it goes without saying that Sam will be made out to be the 'bad' one of them again. Carver has made it very clear in interviews that much of at least the beginning of the season will revolve around which one of them is truly the real monster. As soon as I read that I almost gave up hope entirely. I mean seriously, they make Dean into a super demon and Carver is still finding ways to demonise Sam! In all honesty I think Carver truly dislikes the character ( ... )

Yeah, very likely. And actually I feel like embracing that if it comes about because if they are going to constantly make Sam out to be "the bad brother" then I'll defend him!! I think part of Sam's character is about being misunderstood - about being out of step and not really appreciated. So if this continues to be his "theme" then maybe it's all going to be about just that. (actually, I'm reading that story you recc'd on the newsletter and that's really brought home how alienated Sam is. Maybe the way they are constructing Sam is about keeping him alienated to a degree…).

I'm still excited for S10 - I am curious about demon!Dean and looking forward to seeing what Sam will do to save Dean.

I tend to fluctuate between being really excited and being really scared! One more day and we'll see what the approach may be….

I think I'm purposely trying not to think too hard about what I want this year. Like you said, I'm here until the end and I like to think that no matter what, I will find something to enjoy in season 10.

But I'd love to see the boys wash the car, to see the first aid kit and the patch up. And thanks to your vid, I want to see the green cooler too!! :)

But really, I can honestly say I'm excited about the potential of Deanmon, and how Sam is going to deal with it. And judging by a photo I saw on twitter..... spoiler ahead..... I'm really looking forward to seeing Jody Mills again (and fingers crossed maybe even Charlie too!?!)

Basically - I'm ready! Bring on season 10!

Hey,

I will find something to enjoy in season 10.

Hee - I'm SURE there will be something to enjoy! In fact, from the promos I've already seen stuff I KNOW I will enjoy ('cause I'm shallow in many ways…). And yes - Jody and maybe Charlie. YAY!

*buckles in* I'm ready too!
