I actually hope they don't spend any time in Purgatory at all. Where is the fun when the boys seperated? It is their dyanmic together that makes the show so enjoyable to me, particulary in times when the episode itself is not at all compelling due to lackluster writing ( ... )

Thanks for pointing out killa's post. I really enjoyed it. And I'm off to see if I can make heads or tails of the Tron fic, since all I know about Tron is that it was an early conception of VR.

You make a good point about season 7: it was pretty entertaining, even if I have issues with the overarching theme and structure. There were still a lot of eps I really enjoyed, and I can't remember the last time a show made me wibble the way the end of Death's Door did.

Yeah - I think Killa made some great points. this post is also good too. Especially the chat..;)

I've seen the Tron Legacy so I'm not sure how it will translate to someone who hasn't. I think it will still be understandable. I found the film a bit convoluted but Dei's fic is more straight forward. It's just so damn clever....

I cried twice during the season - during both of Bobby's death scenes. I can't believe I teared up the second time, but it was so sad...

There were some truly great episodes and great moments in S7. Hope we have even more during S8! :DD

Comment on Dick's office- In cinema, that color blue intimates that whatever effort one makes, it will be ineffective. If his office had been orange (irrationality) or red (war/sex/life), or even yellow-green (poisonous), I would have been really worried. Instead, it was the color of Dorothy's pinafore in Wizard of Oz. *relief* Also, the b/w contrasts signify that there's no middle ground for the leviathans. (or whoever--in this case, the bad guys)

Thanks for the recs. I've been sifting through LJ, trying to find post-7x23 stories with a little bit of hope. :)

Hi. Thanks for the info on the colour. I never thought of the colour blue as being ineffectual. I like that and will probably be on the lookout for it from now on. I mostly saw cold and clinical - lacking emotion, particularly in relation to how they view humans.

Hmm... there was a lot of orange surrounding Charlie if I remember. Especially in her apartment.

I am most definitely on the lookout for positive, hope filled 7.23 posts and stories. ;))

I think the "lamps" in Dick's office are those brought in by the TV crew for the purpose of the interview ( ... )

Oh yes yes.. of course they were. I had this insane thought of Dick having them there as a way on intimating people... ;)

The world of food additives and GM foods is a mine field and I love that Show highlighted that in a small way. Also comment on processed food v fresh food. Clever...

I was one of those somewhat underwhelmed by the S7 finale which also colored my overall S7 feelings.

I think this was the case for many actually. As a finale it was slightly underwhelming (in terms of the level of bro angst etc.) and it's probably easy to then say, well...the whole season was flat. But looking back there really are some great eps - Slash Fiction (for me) possibly one of the best ever and Hello Cruel World (stone number one \o/), Death's Door, Dragon Tattoo, Repo Man...

There have been some really interesting things written about the episode and even more interesting speculations for S8. And yeah... let's hope fans haven't trumped the writers. ;D

That cap is awesome in light of how it all wound up. It looks like a window into Purgatory and your comment about how it reflects where the boys ended up is awesome.

I couldn't come up with a reason for Mastermind being there with Cas specifically but I'm sure there's a reason. In the end, it felt like Crowley masterminded the whole thing. The Uno is cool in light of the fact that Cas seems to be the only angel left. I'm going to have to go read the Cas post.

Yes - a window. That's indeed the way it looks. It's great looking back on things they did to signify what was coming up.

I don't think I mentioned how much I loved your observation re the wave of water behind Sam in one of the shots. Their choice of paintings is always curious. It's great to try an deconstruct their reasons for certain choices.

Mastermind is such a great choice of game. I didn't think about it maybe signaling Crowley as masterminding Dick's downfall.

The thing I love about Killa's observations on Cas is his return to childhood and his deliberate avoidance of responsibility. Something she said to me in a comment really struck a cord. It made me feel better about their choice to have him the way he was.

I think Killa's got it as far as Cas. I felt better about how they'd written Cas this last episode. I don't think Cas is as messed up as he appears. When he said his comments about how he would break everything again, it all made a lot more sense that in some ways he's hiding from both what he did and also what he might do. For a character whose entire life was based on following orders, in some ways even though he has grown up abilities, he's really still a child in terms of how long he's been dealing with decision making and taking responsibility.

With the art, I was thinking this morning about it and it dawned on me that the picture with the hidden rabbits are white rabbits. Dean and Cas went down the rabbit hole just as sure as Alice. I always thought Alice in Wonderland was the creepiest story.

Ooh yes... good call on the rabbits. Oh show! Being clever and subtle..;)
