Our indoor cat has disappeared (escape artist that he is) for days and days. The longest was six days, and we made up posters and went to the shelter to search through the many cages of black cats. He has always come back. I have absolutely no idea what he does while he is gone...

So glad yours is back! Even if he's not well, that's better than the alternative.

We've had this cat for about 6 years and he has never disappeared before. This time, because he was so hurt, I think he took himself off to get better. I thought he might have taken himself off to die. They do that also I've heard. He'd been gone for about a week so I really didn't expect to see him again.

But Yay! He's back. He looks awful so we are going to have to be careful he doesn't escape again before we can mend some more.

I'm glad your cat returned! Sounds like he had a rough time, though.

Yes. He was badly injured before he disappeared so it just made no sense that he took himself off. Especially has it's winter and very cold and wet outside.

He looks pretty rough but he is at least walking. *sigh* Pets. They really tug on the heart strings.

I'm very pleased your cat made it home in one piece. Such a relief to stop imagining the worst now.

Yes and to be honest I was imagining the worse. I kept picturing him suffering under some house, slowly dying. At least he can be feed and kept warm now.
