HOUSING ASSIGNMENTS;
H o u s i n g A s s i g n m e n t s
Travellers in Asgard will always be given a room in the Welcome Hall of their respective God House. While they are welcome to purchase or rent housing elsewhere when they have enough money, for starters every character will live in the Welcome Halls. For the first couple of months of gameplay, we ask players not to move their characters out of this assigned housing. There will be an announcement when this changes in the future.
Each Welcome Hall looks, from the ouside, like a colonial-ish house with a nice big yard. Somewhere on the grounds of the manor will be a white stone dais, on which there is an altar to and a statue of the patron god. Natives will come to this altar to place offerings and worship -- it's not reccommended to steal any of the offerings, either, unless you want some retribution in the form of a curse.
Inside, the building has modern amenities -- upon entering the front door, there's a large living room / lounge area with couches, a big screen television (for video games and movies -- there's no broadcasting channels), and plenty of board games and other fun things lying around. There's also a dining room with one very long table and a big, high-end kitchen with the tools needed to make most meals that Travellers will want. Basic ingredients are always stocked -- somehow, you'll never run out of peanut butter & jelly or frozen chicken nuggets -- but anything fancy will have to be bought with earned spending money. Beside the kitchen is a laundry room with a few washers & dryers and racks to hang clothes from, as well as a place to put winter coats, rain boots, and the like. A door from the laundry room leads to the back of the grounds.
Head upstairs from the living room to find the bedroom suites. Each pair of bedrooms shares a Jack & Jill bathroom between it -- so if you live in room 103, your bathroom is shared with room 101. There are eight rooms per floor, with two suites on each side of the hall (101-103 and 105-107 on one side, 102-104 and 106-108 on the other). Each character has their own bedroom. Bedrooms are not shared, just the bathrooms between them. From the ouside the manor seems to only have two floors, but once inside you'll find that the stairs continue up as many floors as is necessary to accomodate the number of residents. Once a "floor three" of rooms appears, there will also be an elevator alongside the staircase.
New characters should comment to this entry with the form below to be placed in a room. Rooms are randomly assigned within your House, so you may not share a suite with the commenter ahead of you. Interaction with suitmates is not exactly necessary, so don't worry if your character does not have a suitemate or if their suitemate is an idle characer. There are plenty of chances to interact with the entirety of your House -- in fact, your patron god might just stir things up sometimes to keep you all in contact!
