... Ah. A metaphor. [Well, now he feels a little silly -- though the image of the 'gods' forcing everyone (including some of the more ornery individuals) to dust and sweep the city is kind of amazing in its own right.]

I've heard all kinds of ideas, myself. It seems as though we can liven up the scenery simply by being here, but many think that isn't the only reason we've been summoned.
